What are Combos?
A Combo lets you bundle multiple market positions into a single trade. Instead of placing separate trades on individual markets, a Combo ties them together - you only win if every leg of your Combo resolves in your favor. The tradeoff: higher risk, higher reward.
Think of it like combining multiple trades into one - if they all hit, your payout is much higher than placing each trade individually.
How do Combos work?
The payout on a Combo is calculated by multiplying the implied probabilities of each leg together. The fewer the chances of all legs hitting, the higher your potential payout.
If any leg of your Combo resolves incorrectly, the entire Combo is lost.
How do I place a Combo?
Browse to any market and click Combo to start building.
Select your outcome (YES or NO) on the first market.
Add additional markets as legs to your Combo.
Review the potential payout.
Enter your trade amount and confirm.
Things to keep in mind
All legs must resolve correctly. A single incorrect leg means the entire Combo is lost.
You can sell your Combo before resolution. Like any position on Polymarket, you're not locked in. If the odds shift, you can sell your Combo shares at the current market price.
Combos are currently available on sports markets only (moneyline, spread, and total). More markets will be supported in the future.
If the button is grayed out, it means no one is available to fill your order at the moment. Try removing a leg or reducing your trade amount, or wait until a willing market maker accepts your request for quote.
Having trouble cashing out?
If you're experiencing difficulties cashing out your Combo, here are some common reasons and steps to address them:
Low Liquidity: Cashing out requires a buyer to purchase your shares. If no buyer is available at your desired price or size, the transaction cannot proceed.
Price Movement: If the market price changes while submitting your sell order, or if there isn’t enough liquidity near your price, Polymarket’s protective guardrails may block the transaction to prevent excessive slippage.
Inactive Cash Out Button: This occurs when no counterparty is offering a quote for your specific position. The issue will resolve once a buyer or market maker enters the market.
Steps to Address Cashing Out Issues
Use Smaller Order Sizes: Smaller orders are easier to match with available liquidity, increasing the likelihood of a successful transaction.
Refresh the Market Page: Refresh the page and re-check the current price before submitting your order to ensure accuracy.
